Himalayan Crown

The Dev Sanskriti Valley
The valley is deeply rooted in Dev Sanskriti, where faith, mythology, and history blend to create a unique spiritual and cultural identity. Kullu is known for prominent destinations such as Kullu and Manali, the serene Parbati Valley, the biodiversity-rich Great Himalayan National Park, traditional hill temple architecture, and numerous trekking routes.

The economy of District Kullu is predominantly agrarian, with a significant portion of the population engaged in agriculture and horticulture, particularly apple cultivation.

Tourism is a major contributor to the district’s economy, with destinations like Manali attracting both domestic and international tourists, thereby supporting the hospitality, transport, and adventure tourism sectors.

Handicrafts form an important part of the local economy, with Kullu being well known for its traditional woollen products such as shawls, caps, pattus, and tweed.

Additionally, hydroelectric power projects in the district contribute significantly to economic development.
